Are there any federal grants,
such as the Federal PELL Grant, available to graduate students? |
| No. |

Is TAP available to graduate
students? |
| Yes.
TAP is available to New York State residents who are attending Syracuse
University and who are enrolled in at least 12 credits each semester. |

Do I have to include my
parents' income information when I am completing the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? |
| No.
Graduate students are considered independent when they are applying
for Federal financial aid. |

| Q4:
If I completed the FAFSA
last year, do I have to complete one this year in order to apply for
a Federal Stafford Loan? |
| Yes.
You must complete the FAFSA every year in order to apply for Federal
financial aid. The FAFSA may be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov/ |

Can I receive a Federal
Education Loan even though I do not have a credit history? |
| Yes.
Your credit history is not considered in determining your eligibility
for a Federal Loan. |

If I borrowed $18,500 through
a Federal Stafford Loan this academic year, can I borrow through this
program for the following summer also? |
| Yes.
If you are enrolled in a least 6 credits during the summer, you may
apply for a Federal Staffod Loan. |

May I cancel my loan after
I sign the promissory note? |
| Yes.
You can cancel your entire loan or a portion of your loan either just
before the period of the loan begins or within 2 weeks after Bursar
Operations receives the loan funds from your lender. |

Will I be eligible for a
Federal Loan even though I will be registered for less than 12 credits
this semester? |
| Yes.
To be eligible for a Federal Loan, you must be enrolled in at least
6 credits. |

Do I need to sign another
Master Promissory Note (MPN) if I borrowed while I was an SU student
last year? |

I want to apply for a Federal Loan, but classes have already begun.
Is it too late to apply? |
| No.
You may apply for a Federal Loan anytime before the enrollment period
ends, as long as you are enrolled in at least 6 credits. |
