Meet the Graduate Program Assistants

Swasti - Grad Program Admin

Swasti Uprety

I am a second-year graduate student from Nepal currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at SU. Having grown up in a country with rich cultural diversity across so many groups, I have developed a curiosity to learn as much as I can from my surroundings and the people I encounter along the way. My favorite thing at SU is the vibrant school culture and beautiful campus, as there never seems to be a dull moment no matter where I look! I am passionate about working as a team member in the Financial Literacy Department because it actively works to bridge the information gap for students through an intersectional, trauma-informed approach, which is something I also strive to do within my own field of mental health counseling.

Scott Benson

My name is Scott Benson, I am from Charlotte, NC and I am in my first year at Syracuse University’s Master of Public Administration program. Growing up in the Charlotte area was certainly an exciting experience, it is a constantly growing and diversifying city that was the perfect place to grow up in. My favorite thing at SU is of course the campus resources and connections to help with both my academic and personal life. I am passionate about financial literacy because it is a life skill that not every student has been able to develop; helping students to develop these skills and understand the world of finance is something that I am passionate about.
