How can you realize your dream of attaining a world-class education at Syracuse University? Apply for financial aid. It’s easier than you think!

The University strives to meet the financial need of admitted students and offers a variety of funding options to help make college as affordable as possible. Consider these facts:

  • During the previous academic year, approximately 81% of Syracuse University students received some form of financial support totaling more than $498 million, including assistance from institutional, federal, state, or private sources.
  • The single largest form of that financial aid was more than $376 million awarded to students in the form of Syracuse University grants and scholarships.

Incoming students should adhere to the published dates and deadlines to ensure timely processing of their Financial Aid applications.

Merit-based scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admission at the time of admission. Merit scholarships are based on the overall strength of the student’s application for admission. There is no separate application for merit-based scholarships.

To receive full consideration of need-based financial aid, students and families should complete the FAFSA and the CSS Profile.

Aid offers are sent out following the student’s admissions decision. To receive your aid offer in a timely manner, students and families should adhere to published deadlines and continually check their MySlice student portal for any required documentation.

We may request additional information from students and families for a variety of reasons. The student will receive an email regarding any missing information, as well as having any missing information posted on their MySlice To Do List.
